Players of Rainbow Six Siege have reportedly received an estimated 2 billion R6 Credits after a major breach allowed hackers to manipulate the game’s internal systems. This incident, which has been confirmed by the official Rainbow Six Siege account on X, also enabled the attackers to ban and unban users and display fraudulent ban notifications.
Ubisoft has stated that the incident resulted in the equivalent of around $13.33 million in in-game currency being distributed without charge to players, as 15,000 R6 Credits are priced at $99.99. In response, the company has shut down the game and its Marketplace, focusing efforts on addressing the issue.
The developer clarified that players will not face penalties for utilizing the credits received during this breach but confirmed that all transactions since 11:00 AM UTC will be reversed. While the servers remain offline, Ubisoft is working towards restoring normal service, although further information regarding the breach's origins has yet to be disclosed.
