Motorola has emerged as the leading foldable phone manufacturer in the US, capturing a remarkable 50% of the market share, according to a report from the International Data Corporation (IDC). This revelation, shared by IDC's vice president Francisco Jeronimo, comes as a surprise given Samsung's strong advertising presence in the foldable segment.
While Samsung has been viewed as dominant since the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold in 2019, Motorola holds a 14% share in the global market. The company's approach has primarily focused on clamshell designs, with a recent expansion into tablet-style foldables showcased at the Mobile World Congress.
Despite its relatively understated presence and fewer releases, Motorola's strategy of providing a diverse range of products at various price points has contributed to its success. The upcoming Razr Fold, which does not yet have a release date or price, is anticipated to further bolster the brand's position in the market.
