Apple's upcoming release of macOS 27 Golden Gate will feature new wallpapers that break from the company's tradition of naming operating systems after natural landmarks. Instead, this version is named after the famous Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Users can already access the light and dark wallpapers in full resolution, which showcase variations of the same design across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS.
The wallpapers include dynamic options, although their use is restricted to the system itself. Instructions for setting the wallpapers involve navigating to ‘System Settings’ and can be done through different methods, such as selecting images from the Photos library or dragging files directly into the settings.
Beyond the visual upgrades, macOS 27 Golden Gate will also introduce enhancements to the Liquid Glass feature, a new Siri AI assistant, and advanced Shortcuts that utilize natural language processing. More details on customizing wallpapers and other features are available through Apple's support resources.
