KitchenAid has introduced its inaugural smart thermometer, a move expected to enhance cooking precision for enthusiasts. Available in both a single probe model priced at $100 and a dual probe model for $200, the thermometer is designed for various cooking methods including grilling and air frying.
Key features include waterproof probes that are dishwasher safe and a battery life that can last up to 24 hours with a full charge. A quick-charge option allows for an additional five hours of use after just five minutes of charging. The device connects to the KitchenAid app, providing users with a graphical representation of their cooking progress, the ability to save up to 20 cooking sessions, and customizable alerts for recipe steps based on temperature.
Bluetooth connectivity allows for a range of 285 feet, which can be extended by connecting to another internet-enabled device. KitchenAid's new product enters a competitive market that includes offerings from brands like Meater and ThermoWorks, as well as parent company Whirlpool.
