The newly unveiled GE Profile Smart 4-Door French-Door Refrigerator is set to revolutionize kitchen management with its advanced features. This refrigerator, introduced ahead of CES 2026, incorporates an AI-powered system designed to streamline grocery shopping and reduce food waste.
Equipped with a built-in barcode scanner, the refrigerator can automatically update a digital grocery list in the SmartHQ app when items are running low. It currently recognizes over four million products and allows users to sync their lists with Instacart for convenient delivery. Additionally, items without barcodes can be added through voice commands or text input.
Another innovative feature is FridgeFocus, a camera system that provides real-time images of the refrigerator’s contents, enabling users to check supplies while shopping. This aims to prevent unnecessary duplicate purchases.
Beyond food storage, the refrigerator also serves as a kitchen hub, offering weather updates and recipe suggestions through its 8-inch touchscreen display. Jason May, executive product director at GE Appliances, emphasized the goal of creating a natural and intuitive kitchen companion that evolves with families.
