The launch of Framework’s new Laptop 13 Pro is complemented by several additional products, including a 10GB Ethernet expansion card that addresses user demand. Alongside this, the company has introduced enhancements for the Laptop 16, which includes a redesigned trackpad and keyboard cover aimed at improving user experience.
CEO Nirav Patel noted that the customizable top deck of the Laptop 16 sometimes traps arm hairs due to the proximity of modules. To mitigate this issue, Framework is releasing a comprehensive cover that integrates both the keyboard and trackpad, now featuring the same haptic technology as the Laptop 13 Pro. Additionally, an entry-level model with a Ryzen 5 340 mainboard has been introduced to provide a more budget-friendly option.
Furthermore, Framework is exploring the potential of external graphics with its new OCuLink Dev Kit, which allows connection of eGPUs using PCIe lanes. This kit will include a dock for various PCIe cards, offering users enhanced functionality. Although the kit is in prototype stages and not yet available, the company plans to share further details later this year.
