Apple is expected to introduce significant updates to the iPhone's Camera app with the upcoming iOS 27, enhancing customization options for users. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the changes will allow both professional and amateur photographers to customize their shooting interface, moving away from Apple's standard settings.
The revamped Camera app will feature a new "Add Widgets" tray, enabling users to replace default controls such as flash settings and resolution with preferred options. Alongside these customizations, advanced settings for depth-of-field and exposure will also be included, providing more control over image output. Additional interface improvements, such as new grid and level tools, will be integrated, streamlining access to various controls.
Moreover, Apple plans to incorporate AI advancements within the Camera app, introducing a new Siri mode for enhanced functionality. This mode will facilitate image searches and text translations directly through the camera interface. Siri will also undergo a redesign, with its animation relocating to the Dynamic Island and offering a new "Search or Ask" interface for a more interactive experience.
