Apple is exploring the launch of its smart glasses with as many as four different styles currently under testing. The anticipated release window for these glasses is projected between late 2026 and early 2027, with the potential for an official market debut later in 2027.
Among the designs being evaluated, Apple is working on a large rectangular frame similar to the Ray-Ban Wayfarers, a slimmer variant inspired by CEO Tim Cook's eyewear, alongside larger and smaller oval or circular options. The company is considering a variety of colors, including black, ocean blue, and light brown.
Internally designated as N50, the smart glasses are aimed at competing with Meta's second-generation model. They are expected to feature unique design elements such as vertically oriented oval lenses and integrated lights. Unlike Meta's offering, Apple's glasses will be optimized for seamless integration with iPhones, enhancing functionalities such as photo and video capturing, notifications, and voice assistant capabilities.
