Apple is set to unveil a redesigned Siri at the upcoming WWDC 2026, following extensive delays and a substantial settlement of $250 million. This new version of the voice assistant will prominently feature in the iPhone's interface, specifically within the device's dynamic island, enhancing user interaction.
According to reports, users will have the ability to access the assistant by saying "Siri" or pressing the power button. Additionally, a new "Search or Ask" interface will be available, allowing for app launches, calendar management, and more, all while incorporating elements from the previous iOS version.
The anticipated rollout could occur as early as September, with Apple potentially allowing integration of other AI services like ChatGPT and Claude. Users will also benefit from a dedicated Siri app, facilitating text and voice conversations, along with features for photo and document uploads.
As Siri gains prominence, accessing the Notification Center will require a pull down from the top left side of the phone. The new updates aim to deepen Siri's integration into various applications, including the Camera and Photos apps, while offering a more interactive user experience.
