Apple is expected to unveil a new entry-level iPad featuring the A18 chip in the upcoming months, following over a year since the last model was introduced. The company has faced challenges with the naming of its base model iPads, which previously utilized a generation numbering system until the launch of the A16 model, simply branded as iPad.
In a recent interview, Apple executives John Ternus and Greg Joswiak discussed the naming strategy for the new MacBook Neo, indicating a shift towards clearer product identities. The name 'Neo' signifies innovation and aligns with Apple's branding for other products like Air and Pro. This approach suggests that the next iPad may adopt a similar naming convention, potentially being called the iPad Neo.
However, the upcoming iPad might not introduce significant design changes, as its aesthetic was established in 2022. This raises the possibility that the device could retain its existing name or adopt a different title until a major redesign occurs in future iterations.
