The anticipated launch of Apple’s next-generation M6 chip is set for this fall, coinciding with the release of the new MacBook Ultra. This high-end device is expected to feature a touchscreen, OLED display, and the innovative Dynamic Island. Initially thought to be part of the MacBook Pro lineup, the first model identified as the MacBook Ultra is now anticipated to debut instead.
While details regarding specific chip variants remain unclear, options such as the M6 Pro and M6 Max may be available at launch. If Apple separates the MacBook Ultra from the MacBook Pro, the latter could also receive updated versions featuring the M6 family of chips simultaneously. Earlier in the year, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg suggested that the M6 chip might arrive sooner than expected, although he maintained that the MacBook Pro and MacBook Ultra would not be unveiled until late in the year.
Currently, the iPad Pro is not expected to see a new release this year, making it likely that other products such as the iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Studio will be the first to incorporate the M6 chip.
