With the release of the latest beta update for the Android Linux Terminal app, users can now adjust the display resolution of the graphical interface. This feature is intended to enhance user experience by allowing a balance between performance and quality. The update, identified as Android 17 QPR1 Beta 1, also introduces a new 'Theme' section that enables customization within the app.
The display resolution can be set to 'Full', 'Half', or 'Quarter', with the latter two options offering trade-offs between performance and visual fidelity. Additionally, a full-screen option is now available, accessible through an icon located in the app's bottom-right corner. The 'Theme' section includes preset options for dark mode, such as 'Standard Dark', 'Solarized Dark', and 'Dracula', with further themes available for download in the Alacritty format.
This update follows the initial Canary release, which allowed for graphical Linux application support within the terminal. Currently, the beta features are exclusive to users with a Pixel device who have opted into the beta program. For those not participating, the Termux app remains a viable alternative for running Linux environment applications on mobile devices.
