WhatsApp is set to enhance its in-app functionality by introducing a feature that provides a summary of unread messages across multiple chats. This new capability, which is currently under development, is designed to streamline the way users interact with their messages.
According to WABetaInfo, a recent TestFlight build reveals that WhatsApp is working on a “Get a summary” button that will appear at the top of the Chats tab when the “Unread” filter is activated. This will allow users to receive a comprehensive overview of unread messages instead of having to check each chat individually.
The existing AI-powered summaries only cover individual conversations, but the upcoming feature promises greater convenience. Utilizing WhatsApp’s Private Processing system, the feature aims to maintain user privacy while delivering concise summaries of conversations. Currently, some users can generate summaries within single chats, but the new option will offer a more unified approach across the platform.
