Google has introduced a revamped AI Mode user interface for desktop web users, featuring a personalized greeting that replaces the previous “Meet AI Mode” message. Users will now see “Hi [name], what’s on your mind today?” during the page load, complete with a vibrant gradient animation. This design is reminiscent of the Gemini app's introductory prompt.
Additionally, the updated ‘plus’ menu for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers now includes a “Models” picker, offering options like “Auto” and “Thinking (3 Pro).” The “Thinking” mode is marked by a stopwatch icon to indicate that it may take longer for responses. The original dropdown menu remains for users needing a description of each option.
Furthermore, the AI Mode history side panel has been enhanced with a new “Search” feature to access recent threads more efficiently. However, these updates are not yet available on mobile apps, and there are currently no announcements regarding updates for Android or iOS; the latter does provide easier access to history within the Google app.
