During the recent forum on January 27, titled 'Intelligent Computing in Shanghai', the city introduced two major initiatives aimed at bolstering its intelligent computing sector. The 'Shanghai High-Quality Development Initiative for the Intelligent Computing Industry' and the 'Computing Power Economy Empowerment Co-Creation System' are designed to enhance the region's technological capabilities.
Shanghai has reported an impressive intelligent computing capacity that exceeds 120,000 PFLOPS, with a municipal scheduling platform managing nearly 20,000 PFLOPS. Pan Yan, the Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, emphasized the city's alignment with national strategies, particularly the 'Artificial Intelligence+' initiative. The event also featured the launch of Muxi Co., Ltd.’s new XiSuo X series GPU brand, as well as the release of the '2026 Shanghai Intelligent Computing High-Quality Development Report'.
Key stakeholders, including Shanghai Instrument & Electronics and Alibaba Cloud, are collaborating on this initiative to establish next-generation intelligent computing centers and a robust cloud service framework. Zhang Jianming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shanghai Instrument & Electronics, noted the importance of evolving from merely expanding infrastructure to enhancing overall efficiency within the industry.
