The launch of PolyAI's new Agent Development Kit (ADK) is set to transform the development and deployment of AI for customer service. This toolkit allows developers to create AI agents using their existing programming environments and tools, moving away from the limitations of traditional platforms that isolate developers from effective software building practices.
Shawn Wen, co-founder and CTO of PolyAI, emphasized that the ADK aligns with real-world software development workflows. It integrates AI coding assistants like Cursor and Claude Code, which help streamline the development process. The ADK facilitates the creation of agents from various inputs including spreadsheets and APIs, enabling rapid development that previously took weeks to accomplish.
One major utility company successfully built complex workflows in just hours, while a UK bank processed numerous FAQs in minutes, showcasing the tool's efficiency. Furthermore, the ADK is designed to foster continuous improvement in AI agents through automated monitoring and quality assurance, allowing them to adapt and enhance their performance autonomously. Currently, over 60% of engineering tasks at PolyAI are performed through ADK-driven workflows.
