Claude, Anthropic's AI browser plugin, is now accessible to all users with a paid subscription, expanding its availability beyond the previous $200-per-month Max subscribers. This plugin enables seamless interaction with online content, allowing Claude to assist with tasks such as filling out forms, managing emails and calendars, and executing complex workflows based on user instructions.
The updated version of the plugin includes integration with Claude Code, enhancing its capabilities by permitting users to "teach" Claude specific workflows. This feature facilitates a more personalized interaction, as users can record processes for Claude to replicate.
While many AI companies, including OpenAI and Perplexity, have launched similar functionalities in their respective browsers, Google has yet to release a comparable feature that allows its AI to navigate and conduct tasks on behalf of users. The tools demonstrated in Project Mariner may soon be introduced, signaling a potential shift in Google's approach to AI integration within its browser.
