Reports indicate that OpenAI's ChatGPT is currently experiencing significant outages, affecting various functionalities for users. Beginning around 3:00 p.m. Eastern, issues were first noted, with over 10,000 incidents logged by Down Detector by 3:15 p.m..
The official status from OpenAI confirms that several features, including conversations, search, image generation, and Codex, are all impacted. This outage follows the recent launch of OpenAI’s Codex app for Mac, which reportedly reached over 200,000 downloads on its first day, according to CEO Sam Altman. In conjunction, Apple announced an update to Xcode that enhances coding support for Codex and Claude.
