In a significant development for Apple users, the upcoming updates to the company's operating systems will introduce the capability to select preferred AI models for Apple Intelligence. This change is set to take place in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, which are anticipated to launch this fall.
As reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, these updates will enable third-party chatbots to enhance Apple’s AI functionalities across devices. Users will not only have the option to run Siri with compatible AI models, referred to as “Extensions,” but these models will also support additional features such as Writing Tools and Image Playground.
