Concerns about the risks posed by traditional AI services have been raised by Illia Polosukhin, Co-Founder and CEO of the NEAR Foundation. He warned that using conventional AI platforms could lead to the exposure of sensitive data, including access keys and tokens. Polosukhin highlighted the need for secure alternatives, stating that current services like OpenAI might unintentionally transmit confidential information.
Polosukhin also discussed the transformative potential of AI and blockchain technology in global payment systems. He identified cryptocurrency as an effective solution for facilitating international transactions without the complications of traditional banking structures. He reflected on past expectations regarding the scalability of AI models, noting that delays have stemmed from insufficient computing power.
Looking forward, Polosukhin believes that AI will revolutionize user interactions with technology, potentially replacing current operating systems. He emphasized that AI could automate coding processes, leading to more personalized applications. However, he acknowledged significant challenges in integrating AI into existing frameworks, as current operating systems are not designed for such technologies and will require substantial upgrades.
