Anthropic has entered a significant agreement with Google and Broadcom to enhance its computing capabilities. This partnership will provide multiple gigawatts of next-generation TPU capacity, anticipated to be operational starting in 2027. The collaboration aims to support the increasing demand for Anthropic's Claude models.
The new TPU capacity, primarily based in the United States, represents a major step in Anthropic's ongoing commitment to bolster American computing infrastructure, following a previous announcement of a $50 billion investment by November 2025. Demand for Claude services has surged in 2026, with a notable increase in business customers spending over $1 million annually, which has more than doubled in a short span.
This deal builds on Anthropic's existing relationship with Google Cloud and Broadcom, expanding on the TPU capacity increase announced last October. As the company prepares for the rollout of its frontier Claude models, the growth in demand underscores the importance of this strategic partnership.
