Google has introduced a new application called Google AI Edge Eloquent on the iOS platform, designed to convert spoken words into structured text seamlessly. This innovative tool features real-time transcription alongside a visual waveform, allowing users to pause their dictation as needed.
Once dictation is completed, the app automatically refines the text and copies it to the clipboard for easy use in other applications. Users can manipulate the text's presentation, choosing options to make it more formal, concise, or lengthy. The application also tracks statistics like word count and words per minute, enhancing user experience.
A notable feature is the option for a “fully offline” mode to ensure privacy, while enabling the Gemini functionality improves text quality further. The History tab allows for review and deletion of past transcriptions, and users can customize the app by adding frequently used terms to improve accuracy. Currently, the app is not available on the Play Store, leading to speculation about its exclusivity to iOS. Google emphasizes that this tool provides voice dictation without subscription fees and no usage limits.
