The Gemini app has introduced a new feature allowing users to interact with images through a “Mark up” editor, enhancing the way prompts can be created with its Nano Banana tool. This functionality is available on Android, iOS, and the web, enriching user experience by enabling drawing, highlighting, and annotating directly on images.
Additionally, the app is expanding its SynthID verification process to include video content, following previous image support initiated in November. Users can upload videos up to 100 MB and 90 seconds in length, and inquire whether they were generated or modified with Google AI by using prompts like “Was this generated using Google AI?” Google will respond with details about the presence of SynthID watermarks in both audio and visuals.
This update signifies a broader rollout of video and image verification across all languages and countries supported by the Gemini app, aiming to enhance transparency in AI-generated content.
