Anthropic has rolled out an update for its AI tools, Claude Code and Claude Cowork, enabling them to perform tasks on users' computers. The new capabilities include opening files, browsing the internet, and utilizing development tools, enhancing interaction with supported services like Google Workspace and Slack.
Initially available to Claude Pro and Claude Max subscribers on macOS, this feature remains in a research preview phase, with continuous adjustments based on user feedback. While Claude will seek user permission before executing tasks, Anthropic advises caution, particularly regarding sensitive information.
Introduced in January, Claude Cowork is an adaptation of the Claude Code AI, aimed at providing a more accessible experience for casual users. The update also integrates with Anthropic's Dispatch feature, allowing seamless messaging across devices.
