Google introduced significant updates to Chrome on Wednesday, enhancing the browser with AI-driven features designed to streamline online tasks. A key element of the changes is the auto browse functionality, which can perform multistep operations such as comparing prices, booking flights, and managing schedules automatically.
The redesigned Gemini side panel now operates alongside users' main activities on platforms including MacOS, Windows, and Chromebook Plus. This feature allows users to engage with Gemini without interruption, enabling them to summarize reviews, compare shopping options, and organize calendars efficiently.
Currently, AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US are receiving these updates, as Google aims to create a more integrated and supportive browsing experience. During a demonstration, Product Lead Charmaine D'Silva showcased the advantages of these tools, highlighting the importance of human oversight in critical tasks like finalizing purchases.
