OpenAI's recent update to its AI chatbot, now branded as GPT-5.2, introduces enhanced personalization options aimed at improving user experience. Users have reported dissatisfaction with the chatbot's tone, prompting the company to implement features that allow for adjustments in characteristics such as warmth, enthusiasm, and even emoji usage.
The new features are accessible through the Personalization settings, where users can select from four distinct options: Warm, Enthusiastic, Header & Lists, and Emoji. This allows for precise tuning of how ChatGPT communicates, whether users prefer a more casual tone or a more formal approach.
This update follows the feedback received after the rollout of GPT-5, which was criticized for lacking a friendly demeanor compared to its predecessor, GPT-4. In response to user concerns, OpenAI had previously introduced various tone settings, including Professional, Candid, and Quirky, in the earlier GPT-5.1 version.
