Google has implemented new usage limits for its Gemini AI models, which have drawn significant user frustration this week. In response, the company has adjusted the limits for its AI-powered coding tool, Antigravity, twice since the new restrictions took effect. These modifications include a 3x increase in the rate limits and a reset of weekly quotas following user feedback.
Earlier this week, users reported reaching their limits within hours of utilizing Antigravity, prompting Google to take swift action. Varun Mohan, a Director at DeepMind, acknowledged that many users could exhaust their weekly quotas after just a few sessions, leading to the decision for a second quota reset for all paid plans.
Despite these adjustments, the overall limits on Gemini's suite of tools remain unchanged outside of Antigravity, indicating that users may still experience restrictions. While the increased quotas aim to enhance user experience with Antigravity, the new limits are still lower than the previous thresholds, potentially impacting overall usage.
