Starting today, the Amazon app introduces a feature that generates AI-created images of non-existent products as users type search queries. This innovative approach aims to enhance product discovery by visually representing user descriptions, such as clothing styles or furniture types, that they may not have the exact terminology for.
As customers input descriptive terms, the app produces images that adapt with each word, allowing users to select visuals that resonate with their preferences. Initially, this feature is available in apparel and home categories, with plans to expand into additional areas in the future. Amazon describes this as a way to connect “imagination” with the shopping experience, making it easier for users to find items that match their vision.
In addition to this, Amazon is launching other AI features, including shoppable collages for style-based shopping, enhanced text search capabilities, and shortcuts for similar products. The company is also improving its “Amazon Lens Live” tool, which will enable real-time interactions and inquiries regarding products.
