The GeekWire Awards are set to highlight significant contributions to the Pacific Northwest on May 7, with nearly 50 finalists recognized across various categories. Among the notable honorees are AI House and the Center for an Informed Public from the University of Washington, both selected for their impactful community initiatives.
AI House, a pioneering hub in Seattle's AI sector, has hosted over 150 events since its inception just over a year ago. Located at Pier 70, this 108,000-square-foot facility promotes collaboration among entrepreneurs, investors, and students. It also provides a workspace for tech companies, including those linked to the AI2 Incubator.
In parallel, the Center for an Informed Public aims to educate the public about identifying misinformation. Both organizations exemplify the spirit of this year’s Geeks Give Back initiative, which is supported by BECU. Winners will be awarded unique robot trophies during the ceremony at Showbox SoDo, and tickets are currently available for attendees.
