YouTube Music is currently implementing modifications to its Now Playing page, with the latest updates including a dual-pane interface for enhanced playback controls. Screenshots from users indicate the reintroduction of a Song/Video switcher that allows users to toggle between audio and video formats, now represented solely by icons instead of text.
This redesign also alters the layout of the bottom tabs, where the Lyrics tab has been relocated within the carousel, making it less consistently accessible. The Up Next tab will now display the name of the playlist or album being played, while the Related tab has been removed, though related songs can still be accessed by tapping song titles.
Changes to the carousel's position have also been made, moving it closer to the song and artist information. Additionally, the playhead from the progress bar has been eliminated, resulting in a thicker progress indicator. Currently, these features are being tested on a limited basis, with no specific timeline for a full rollout announced.
