TikTok has introduced a subscription-based ad-free option for users in the UK, enhancing the platform for those willing to pay for a smoother experience. The new feature, which is open to all users aged 18 and older, will be available in the coming months at a cost of £4 (approximately $5.40) monthly.
This move follows a similar initiative by Meta, which launched ad-free features on Facebook and Instagram in the UK last fall for £3 (around $4) per month. Kris Boge, TikTok's UK Managing Director, emphasized that this option allows users more control over their experience while supporting local businesses through advertising.
Currently, there is no information regarding an ad-free subscription for users in the US. This rollout marks TikTok's first official introduction of an ad-free experience in an English-speaking market.
