The federal court is currently addressing a lawsuit filed by Charlotte MacInnes, an Australian actress, against Rebel Wilson, alleging involvement in a cyber-attack that resulted in the leak of a nude photo. MacInnes claims that her social media accounts were compromised shortly after initiating legal action against Wilson in September 2025.
In her affidavit, MacInnes accuses Wilson of orchestrating the hacking incident, which she describes as deeply distressing and anxiety-inducing. Additionally, MacInnes asserts that Wilson spread false information across her social media channels, claiming that the young actor had made and then retracted a sexual harassment complaint to further her career.
Wilson's posts, which reached her 11 million followers, left MacInnes feeling harassed and powerless. The young actress expressed heartbreak over the public's reaction, stating that she chose to skip the premiere of her film The Deb due to safety concerns related to Wilson. Despite the severity of the accusations, no supporting evidence has been provided, and Wilson has not yet responded to inquiries regarding the matter.
