Meta has introduced a new app called Forum, which consolidates Facebook groups into a single feed. Launched on Friday, this application is currently exclusive to iPhone users. It allows individuals to view posts from various groups they belong to without interference from algorithm-driven recommendations or friends' posts.
Forum features an AI tool named Ask, enabling users to search for information across all connected groups easily. Users can download the app from the App Store and link it to their Facebook accounts, ensuring that their groups, profile, and activity are synchronized. The app encourages a focus on community conversations, aiming to highlight authentic discussions rather than trending topics.
Interestingly, Meta did not formally promote Forum through its typical channels, such as its newsroom or social media accounts. A spokesperson indicated that the company frequently tests new products to gauge user interest. Observers have noted that Forum shares similarities with Reddit, emphasizing engagement with actual user interactions.
