HeyPolo, a new third-party app, is set to enhance location-sharing capabilities with advanced privacy controls. Unlike Apple’s Find My app, which limits sharing options to set durations, HeyPolo allows users to specify exact start and end times for location sharing, automatically ceasing tracking once the time is up.
Developed by the team behind Surfshark, the app features seven key functionalities aimed at providing smarter, more flexible ways to connect. Users can choose to share their exact location or a less precise general area, catering to different needs. Typical users include parents, teenagers, couples, and coworkers, all seeking to maintain connections while managing privacy.
HeyPolo also enables the creation of groups for easier location sharing without requiring everyone to have a subscription. Only the primary user needs a membership, while others can access shared locations freely. Additionally, automatic SOS alerts and notifications for entering or leaving designated areas enhance the app's utility, ensuring users remain informed without constant manual checks.
