WhatsApp Web is set to enhance group communication by introducing support for voice and video calls. This new capability will allow up to 32 participants to join group calls, which will also feature screen sharing options.
The feature is currently being tested, with select users receiving notifications about its availability. To initiate a group call, users can open a group chat and look for the call button at the top of the conversation. This will enable them to choose between a voice or video call and select specific members to participate.
End-to-end encryption will protect these group calls, and users can create call links for easier invitations. Those interested in trying the beta version can join by navigating to Settings > Help and toggling on the “Join the beta” option. However, joining the beta does not ensure access to all features, as WhatsApp implements updates gradually.
