When the new icon is tapped, users still see the original icon along with an explanation of the Temporary Chat function. The mobile version of the app is the only one affected by this modification.
Despite the visual changes, the overall user interface of the Gemini app remains unchanged, with features like notebooks still accessible in the sidebar. There has not been any official announcement regarding the reasoning behind this icon switch.
