Starting March 5, 2026, X has rolled out a significant update to its creator subscriptions platform, introducing a new feature known as Exclusive Threads. This functionality enables creators to restrict visibility of specific tweets within a thread to subscribers only, allowing them to tease content while monetizing the remainder.
Embedded subscribe buttons will now appear directly in the conversation, aiming to entice readers to pay for access to the complete thread. This update is part of X's broader strategy to engage content creators, following recent enhancements such as a paid partnership label for sponsored posts. The company hopes these tools will encourage greater subscriber growth and revenue generation for its users.
A visual demonstration shared by Nikita Bier, head of product, alongside the X Creators account, illustrates how the feature will function in practice. The anticipation is that this innovative approach will attract more creators to the platform and enhance user interaction.
