Over 100 episodes of Sesame Street are now available for streaming on YouTube and YouTube Kids, providing a new source of entertainment for children. This initiative results from a collaboration between Sesame Workshop and YouTube, which was initially announced last year, offering both classic episodes and fresh content.
The collection includes themed compilations targeting educational subjects such as STEM and the alphabet, alongside broader themes like “Adventure & Imagination” and “Friendship & Play.” Notably, the archive features the premiere episode from 1969, showcasing early appearances of characters like Kermit the Frog, Big Bird, and Bert.
This partnership with YouTube should not be confused with another recent agreement Sesame Workshop made with Netflix, which involves new episodes of Sesame Street moving to both the streaming service and PBS. This change marks a shift from its previous exclusive deal with HBO, which has concluded after a decade.
