Intel has introduced its new lineup of vPro processors, known as the Core Ultra Series 3, specifically designed for business computers. These processors aim to enhance security and management for IT professionals with features not found in standard chips. A notable advancement is the introduction of DTECT, Intel's upgraded Threat Detection Technology, which leverages AI to improve malware detection by analyzing hardware-level activity in real-time.
DTECT utilizes telemetry data from CPUs alongside AI models processed by neural and graphics units, allowing it to identify threats more swiftly than traditional methods. This is particularly important as cybercriminals increasingly employ sophisticated tactics, including AI-generated malware. Intel emphasizes that this technology equips IT administrators with better visibility into advanced threats, enabling quicker responses to potential attacks.
In addition to security improvements, the vPro processors promise significant performance gains, including a reduction in CPU utilization by 59% and a 56% improvement in power efficiency during early tests. Built using Intel's 18A technology, these processors can deliver over 30% faster performance compared to previous generations, with substantial boosts in graphics and AI capabilities.
