Microsoft is enhancing user experience on Xbox consoles by allowing players to disable the Quick Resume feature for individual games. This update follows a testing phase with Xbox Insiders in March and is part of the broader April update for the Xbox Series S and X.
Originally a standout feature at launch, Quick Resume enables users to switch between games without losing progress. However, issues arose with games requiring a stable internet connection, often resulting in players being forced back to the main menu. The new option addresses these concerns by allowing users to toggle Quick Resume off for specific titles.
In addition to this capability, the update includes new grouping options for games on the home screen, customizable interface colors, and improved functionality in the Xbox PC app, which now supports any gamepad for mouse control. This update reflects a strategic shift under Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, who has also reduced the price of the Ultimate tier of Xbox Game Pass from $30 to $23 per month.
