The availability of theSteam Deck remains uncertain as Valve has indicated that the handheld gaming console “may be out of stock intermittently” due to ongoing shortages in memory and storage. This situation stems from a surge in demand from the artificial intelligence sector, which has led to tech manufacturers facing difficulties in securing these essential components.
Valve also confirmed that the more affordable Steam Deck LCD is out of production and will not be available once current stocks are depleted. The company began the discontinuation process in December, leaving the OLED models as the sole option for consumers looking to purchase a Steam Deck.
Additionally, Valve announced delays for the release of theSteam Machine and the Steam Frame VR headset, originally set for early 2026, due to the same memory and storage constraints. The company hinted that the pricing for these devices may increase as they reassess their launch plans.
