The integration of gaming features in electric vehicles is set to advance with the announcement from Sony Honda Mobility. Their upcoming electric vehicle, the Afeela, will support PS Remote Play, allowing passengers to engage with their PlayStation 5 and 4 consoles while on the go. This feature is anticipated to enhance the travel experience, particularly during lengthy journeys.
The Afeela's infotainment system will enable users to play their favorite titles directly from the car's display, provided they maintain a broadband connection of at least 5Mbps. For an improved gaming experience, a connection speed of 15Mbps is recommended. Gamers can conveniently bring their DualSense controller along and continue their sessions seamlessly.
Set to enter the market with initial deliveries scheduled for 2026, the Afeela 1 has previously demonstrated its gaming capabilities at CES 2024. The trend of incorporating gaming into electric vehicles follows Tesla's earlier efforts to support Steam on their Model S and X, which were subsequently discontinued.
