The rhythm-based game Ratatan is set to launch on July 16 for the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Previously accessible on PC since September as an early access title, the game will not be released for the original Nintendo Switch due to quality concerns regarding its multiplayer experience, as stated by the developers.
Developed by Ratata Arts, a team featuring veterans from the creators of the Patapon series, Ratatan combines rhythm mechanics with elements of roguelite and RPG customization. The game was first showcased at the Summer Games Fest in 2025, highlighting its unique gameplay that challenges players to maintain synchronization with their characters.
While fans eagerly await its release, the absence of the original Switch version underscores the developers' commitment to delivering a high-quality multiplayer experience.
