NVIDIA has introduced updated features for its DLSS 4.5 technology, aimed at enhancing performance on its RTX 50 series graphics cards. The enhancements include Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation 6X, which are designed to improve frame rates significantly for high-refresh displays.
The Dynamic Multi Frame Generation feature operates like an automatic transmission, adjusting frame rates dynamically based on the balance of image quality and responsiveness, while ensuring the output does not exceed the monitor's refresh rate. In addition, the Multi Frame Generation 6X increases the performance multiplier to 6X, allowing for the generation of up to five additional frames for each rendered frame, potentially enhancing 4K frame rates by up to 35%.
These updates are intended to facilitate smoother gameplay experiences with reduced strain on GPU resources. Although the native frame rates of games remain unchanged, the features utilize AI to create intermediate frames. NVIDIA has also confirmed that several games, including 007 First Light and CONTROL Resonant, support these new capabilities.
