IO Interactive has revealed that the theme song for its upcoming game, 007 First Light, has been co-written and performed by Lana Del Rey and composer David Arnold. The game, which serves as a playable origin story for the iconic spy James Bond, is set to be released on May 27, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, with a version for Nintendo Switch 2 launching this summer.
The music for First Light, which aligns with the franchise's tradition of involving prominent artists, reflects the themes of a younger, more reckless Bond. IO Interactive aims to incorporate stealth mechanics from its acclaimed Hitman series into this title. Del Rey's connection to gaming includes her past work, where her song "24" was initially intended for the Bond film Spectre but ultimately replaced by Sam Smith's "Writing's on the Wall."
