A new survival horror game titled Directive 8020 has been announced by Supermassive Games, known for titles like Until Dawn. This game marks the beginning of the second season of the Dark Pictures series and features a narrative-driven experience where players' choices impact character survival. Set in a sci-fi environment, the plot revolves around a crew on a colony ship that crashes on a seemingly safe planet, only to face a deadly alien creature that can imitate humans.
The game introduces five main characters, including pilot Brianna Young, played by Lashana Lynch. It will allow solo gameplay or couch co-op with friends, where players can control different characters. An online multiplayer mode is slated for future release.
In addition to this launch, the indie gaming scene is bustling with activity as Summer Game Fest and other events are approaching, expected to bring a flurry of game announcements. On May 21, fans can tune into the Six One Indie Showcase, which promises to feature 56 games, including those across various genres, and highlights the diverse lineup of indie titles.
