Ubisoft has temporarily disabled the servers for Rainbow Six Siege as part of a response to a significant security breach that resulted in players receiving vast amounts of in-game credits and rare items. The incident, which began on Saturday morning, led to user reports of accounts being banned or unbanned alongside discrepancies in credit balances.
Following the outage announcement, Ubisoft confirmed on their social media that they are addressing the situation. The company stated that a rollback of all transactions from Saturday at 6 AM ET is underway. Players were informed that spending ill-gotten credits would not lead to bans.
As of Sunday, the game's status page continued to indicate an "unplanned outage" for all platforms, including PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Ubisoft emphasized the importance of thorough quality control checks to maintain account integrity and noted that there is no specific timeline for when the servers will be restored.
