The upcoming Clayface film from DC is generating significant buzz ahead of its scheduled release on October 23. Co-president of DC Films, Peter Safran, presented the initial footage, which has been described as chilling and unsettling.
The footage opens with a disturbing image of a man in a hospital, wrapped in bloody bandages, his eyes wide with fear. Quick cuts follow, depicting horrifying scenes such as surgery and injections. As the narrative unfolds, audiences are introduced to Matt Hagen, portrayed by Tom Rhys Harries, who is seen fleeing through the streets of Gotham City. The montage is accompanied by the phrase “Look fear in the face,” culminating in a striking moment where Hagen wipes away his clay face, revealing his true form.
Written by Mike Flanagan and directed by James Watkins, this film is being characterized by Safran as “a riveting horror thriller,” setting expectations high for its unique approach within the DC Universe.
