The long-awaited sequel to Spaceballs is scheduled to premiere in theaters on April 23, 2027, coinciding with the film's 40th anniversary. This announcement was made by Amazon MGM Studios on Friday, following years of speculation about a sequel.
Returning cast members include notable names such as Mel Brooks, Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman, George Wyner, and Daphne Zuniga. New additions to the cast are Josh Gad, Keke Palmer, Lewis Pullman, and Anthony Carrigan.
Directed by Josh Greenbaum and scripted by Gad, along with Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, the sequel has been in the works since Brooks confirmed its production in a promotional video last summer. Following the recent announcement, the studio shared a post on X highlighting the release date.
