Over 500 unpublished photographs from the 1983 film Return of the Jedi will be available for auction in March. The collection, known as The Stuart Ziff Collection: Star Wars, includes behind-the-scenes images taken by visual effects artist Stuart Ziff. Propstore plans to auction these images as part of its Spring Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, scheduled for March 25-27 in Los Angeles and online.
The first lot features more than 300 photos from the “Redwoods River Shoot,” with an estimated value of $3,000 to $6,000. Another lot contains over 150 images from the “Yuma and Elstree Studios Shoot,” expected to fetch between $1,500 and $3,000. Additionally, a bound continuity breakdown for Ziff’s original title, Revenge of the Jedi, is also up for bidding, estimated at $1,500 to $3,000.
Ziff expressed excitement about the auction, stating that the photographs capture authentic moments from the production. Fans will have an opportunity to experience the behind-the-scenes atmosphere of this iconic film through the auction.
